Russell (Bo-Bo) Barnes Jr, 58 reigns from Havre de Grace, Maryland he left his mother Anna Jones Barnes on Dec 1st, 2020, and met his father Russell Barnes Sr at the gates of heaven.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Bernice Reed Barnes on May 26, 2012, and they resided in his adored hometown. He grew up in St. James AME church.
He was educated in the Harford County public school system graduating from Havre de Grace High School in 1980. Russell was employed by Harford Durcool for many years until joining the Harford county board of education. His first location was Joppatown High school where he was able to impact and influence the youth there then transferred to the school that stole his heart, Havre de Grace Elementary school. The daily stories he shared of his students and coworkers he came into contact with made it ever so apparent that the love he had for them, they had for him too. Russell was a hardworking man who rarely took a break. His students loved seeing him at his second job at the local dollar tree. In addition, he also had his own lawn service business.
Russell was a loving, caring man, an awesome husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was affectionately called Bo, Pop-Pop BoBo, Zeek, and Uncle Chobe.
Left to cherish precious memories are his loving wife, Bernice Reed Barnes, Children Carla Michelle Vass, Christopher Barnes, and stepdaughter Tasha Harris. Siblings Lydia Donna Harris (Phillip), Randy Barnes (Angela), and Daniel Barnes (Iris). Loving Grandchildren, godchild, a host of Nieces, Nephews, and friends. Mr. Ronald Wooden and the entire Havre de Grace elementary school family.
