Obituary for Deirdre "Dede" Taylor McFarland

Dede was born June 3, 1956 to Paula and Leon Rogers (deceased). Dede grew up in Buffalo, New York and attended Public School 37, Grover Cleveland High before moving to Havre de Grace, Maryland where she graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1973.

Dede worked thirty years with Army Airforce Exchange Service receiving many accolade's and awards before retiring in 2011.

Dede is survived by her loving son Michael V. Taylor, Jr. and her devoted and loving husband Larry McFarland. She is also survived by her mother Paula (Allen) Garrett, three Aunts; Viola Lewis, Linda Sykes, Karen Sykes, four sisters; Diane (Tim) Barfield, Lucy (Jeff) deceased Coleman, Paulette Dennis, Chris (Ismael) Diaz. And three beloved stepsisters; Brenda, Carol and Regina. Her mother-in law Cecil McFarland, four sisters-in-law's; Carol Gibbs, Jackie McFarland, Elaine Adair, and Adele Cozart, two brothers-in-law's; Robert Gary McFarland and Carlton Steven McFarland. Five nieces, seven nephews and seventeen great nieces and nephews as well as a host of cousins. Her best friend Lisa (Jason) Frame, the mother of Rhianna and Makenna (Dede's Goddaughters). Her lifelong friends were Barbara Johnson, Gail Mullen and Melody Bunn.

Dede was a great listener, very ambitious and extremely determined. She loved doing for all the kids in the family and was the keeper of the family history. Dede loved to decorate and enjoyed watching all the home improvement programs. She loved to shop and talk with her sisters and best friends forever. For a non-driver, she would drive to a good sale even in the midst of a snowstorm.

Above all Dede loved her family and helped where and when she could.
